DARLENE BROWN, Founder of Divine Empowerment, is a certified Life-Skills Coach, Inspirational Speaker and Facilitator with over 20 years of professional business experience.
She is a member of the State of Maryland Advisory Board for the ‘Winning Fathers’ grant initiative, an Advisory Board Member for the Strategic Community Services, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides training to women and an Advisory Board Member for the Diverse Male Student Academy (DMSA) at Prince Georges Community College, which assists African American and Latino males with enrollment into college and guidance to sustain academic excellence before graduation and in life. Ms. Brown is certified on the Yale Curriculum “Coping with Work and Family Stress: A workplace Preventive Intervention.”
Gifted with excellent oratorical skills, Ms. Brown is member of Toastmasters and a community activist where she resides in Prince Georges County. She facilitates a weekly training class on anger management and healthy relationships for women through the Prince Georges County Health Department at Adam House located in Suitland, Maryland.
Her career includes published articles on ‘love and relationships’ in Today’s Black Woman Magazine and the former host of “The Next Level”, a local TV show which aired in Washington, DC and New York City. She has held on-camera interviews with artist such as Carl Thomas, Queen Latifah, Eryka Badu, Common, Deborah Cox and Jaheim.
Ms. Brown was the keynote speaker for the First Annual Maryland National Heritage award Ceremony honoring Kevin Clash – also known as “Elmo” on Sesame Street at the Baltimore Ravens Stadium. She has facilitated numerous training workshops on “Self-Awareness”, “Strategic Planning”, “Effective Communication”, “The Power of Positive Thinking” and “Leadership” to lower and higher academic institutions in New York, New Jersey, Washington, DC and Maryland.
Ms. Brown walks in her divine purpose daily and humbly accepts her role as a servant leader, providing inspiration to others utilizing her God given gift. She empowers others to become the best person that they can be and ultimately fulfill their divine destiny in life.
